Reporting period

This Duty of Candour report covers the period 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025.

The report is published in line with the Health (Tobacco, Nicotine etc. and Care) (Scotland) Act 2016 and associated duty of candour requirements.

Duty of candour incidents

During this reporting period, Selah Home Care had no incidents that met the criteria for Duty of Candour reporting.

Because there were no reportable incidents, no formal Duty of Candour procedure was triggered during the reporting year.

Promoting openness

Selah Home Care promotes a culture of openness, honesty, and learning. Staff are encouraged to report incidents, near misses, concerns, and complaints so they can be reviewed properly.

The service records and reviews incidents, accidents, safeguarding concerns, and complaints, and supports people who use the service and their families when something goes wrong.

Learning and improvement

Management reviews incidents and complaints to identify learning, improve practice, and strengthen staff guidance. Safeguarding, duty of candour, and reporting expectations are included in staff training and supervision.
